New Delhi:- India wants to avoid any "further escalation of the situation" after conducting air strikes against militant camps in Pakistan territory, foreign minister Sushma Swaraj said on Wednesday.
She stressed during a visit to China that "no military installations were targeted" in the air raid, describing the operation as a "preemptive strike" to prevent another attack in India by the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group.
"Terrorism and extremism bear different names and labels. It uses diverse causes. But in each case, it is driven by distortion of religion, and a misguided belief in its power to succeed," she said in her speech.
