In one of the more surprising ballots cast at the United Nationsinfo-icon General Assembly (UNGA) on Thursday, Indiainfo-icon joined 127 countries in opposing USinfo-icon President Donald Trumpinfo-icon's decision to recognise Jerusaleminfo-icon as the capital of Israelinfo-icon.

Social mediainfo-icon, particularly Twitterinfo-icon, was abuzz with reactions to the UNGA vote, with India's vote polarising opinion in the subcontinent.

A member of parliament of the ruling Bhartya Janta Party (BJP), Subramaniam Swamy called the decision a 'huge mistake'.
