Jodhpur:- Jodhpur police claimed on Saturday to have nabbed a man for killing his four-year-old daughter, the Times of India reported.
Police said 26-year-old Nawab Ali Qureshi had taken the child to a bazaar on Thursday, showered her with gifts and told her how much she meant to him. With the family resting in the terrace, he had taken the child to a room on the ground floor of the house and slit her throat. Qureshi then went back to sleep.
The mother of the child found her body after rising. Qureshi, a butcher, originally claimed that a cat may have killed their daughter. The mother of the child, however, lodged a murder complaint against an unidentified suspect, Jodhpur SP Rajan Dushyant said.
Qureshi confessed to killing the child before police. He said he had 'sacrificed' his daughter to please the Almighty.
