A Joint Commission on Trilateral Cooperation is expected to be established between, Pakistan, afghanistan and Tajikistan to develop and implement a mutual strategy on various subjects.
The commission, which is likely to be formed during the tripartite meeting between Presidents of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Afghanistan's Muhammad Ashraf Ghani and Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday in dushanbe, will work under the ministers of foreign affairs or ministers and heads of other relevant authorities of these countries, The Express Tribune reported.
A joint statement is also expected to be issued today in this regard.
The Presidents of the three countries are likely to focus on sustaining peace and stability, socio-economic development, progress and solidarity of the three countries during the meeting.
The three countries will also emphasis upon the importance of the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace negotiations and national reconciliation process in Afghanistan, and support the 'kabul Process'.
Subsequently, a joint statement would be issued the same day.
During the meeting, presidents of the three countries are likely to focus on the importance of enhancing beneficial relations in all areas crucial to sustaining peace and stability, socio-economic development, progress and solidarity of the three countries.
They will also underline the national reconciliation process in Afghanistan and would extend their support to the 'Kabul Process'.
Pak PM meeting with his Tajik countpatner
During a meeting between Prime Minister Sharif and his Tajik counterpart Qohir Rasulzoda, they agreed on the need for exploring new avenues of cooperation in agriculture, education and culture sectors and improving trade ties.
Mr Sharif said both the sides were committed to further strengthening their relationship in diverse spheres to build into a multi-dimensional partnership.
The two leaders noted the improvement in bilateral trade and called for identifying weak areas and taking measures to address the issues.
They stressed the need for identifying new traditional and non-traditional trading goods and services and directed the joint ministerial commission to formulate a comprehensive framework.
The two leaders also agreed on the need to hold exhibitions to promote products of the two countries.
Prime Minister Qohir noted that the Joint Commission on Energy and Infrastructure had met on the sidelines of Prime Minister Sharif's visit.
Both the leaders noted the need of resumption of flights between the two countries to boost people-to-people and business-to-business contacts.
PM Sharif also visited the Dusti (Friendship) Square and laid a wreath at the monument to the founder of the Tajikistan. The square houses the monument to Ismoil Somoni, who was the Emir of the Samanid dynasty and the founder of Tajikistan.
