Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna passed away after a long battle against cancer, reports Hindustan Times.
The actor was admitted to Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Girgaon, Mumbai. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones in his last days.
Khanna is known as the original heartthrob of Bollywood. From his debut in 1968 with Mann Ka Meet, he went on to become one of the biggest stars in the industry, working in productions like Amar Akbar Anthogy, Insaaf and Qurbani.
Khanna has won two Lifetime Achievement awards, one from Filmfare and the other from Zee, but that didn't mean the end of his acting career. While the actor decided to pursue politics, becoming a minister of state in the Ministry of External Affairs, he continued to work in films like Dabangg and Dilwale.
